What can I do about student loan debt if I decide to become a Buddhist monk?

MAN asked:

Buddhist monks don’t have income. The loans would take several years to pay off, and I’m not worried about karma, as incredibly rich bankers tend to be a little bit evil and not in need of all that money.

You still have to pay them off.

You will still owe the money and your income will still have deductions for the payments

see if the temple you belong to will pay it for you (which they probably won’t) or ask your family to. If no one can do it, pay your debt off yourself before you become a monk. Better karma that way anyways.

good luck with that, i feel like once you sign those papers is like selling your LIVE to the devil, because the way they talk to me…they will take whatever they can from me, i really wish you the best and again, GOOD LUCK!
